Na Nirand

Chiang Mai

If you’re looking for a characterful hotel in a central location, but set apart from the hustle and bustle, Na Nirand ticks all the boxes. The location is spot on: a serene setting beside the Mae Ping River in the heart of Chiang Mai, within walking distance of the old town and famous night market. Lanna style architecture, as well as the use of dark wood and local fabrics, reinforces the sensation of being in northern Thailand. A more contemporary style building houses the property’s riverfront restaurant which also boasts a 360-degree rooftop bar - the perfect spot for an evening cocktail.

The spacious rooms are elegant and simple with a focus on the use of local materials and traditional crafts. Individually decorated riverfront suites enjoy gorgeous views over the river, decadent freestanding bathtubs, and a true sense of privacy. Rather stately looking, half-wood, European-meets-Thai style houses hold a variety of rooms and suites, all featuring a private balcony. Wood and rattan furnishings are made by local craftsmen, as are the beautiful hand-woven textiles that feature throughout. A really stunning property with a strong sense of place.

Location

Set on the banks of the Mae Pink River, Na Nirand offers the best of both worlds. Complete serenity at the riverside, yet only a 5-minute walk to the local market.

A wonderfully atmospheric, Thai-style gem. Cocktails on the roof were a great way to end the day.

Why we love it

Discover what to expect from staying at Na Nirand

Peaceful retreat

On arrival, you’re greeted by the resort's towering 100-year-old tree; a true focal point of the hotel, combining drama with a sense of tranquility. Stepping into Na Nirand and its peaceful surroundings, it can be hard to believe you are as little as 5-minutes’ walk from the intriguing night market, or that the lively old town is just a short tuk tuk ride away. Combining culture and discovery with calm serenity can be a tricky combination to find in these parts - but we found it!

Community & Sustainability

Na Nirand is committed to supporting local communities and artisans. During construction, traditional crafts were used in every aspect of the design. Natural materials, such as wood and rattan, have been used for furniture throughout the property.
