Viroth's Hotel

Siem Reap

A true oasis in the heart of buzzy Siem Reap, the 1950s-inspired Viroth's Hotel displays eye-catching good looks and remains a popular choice for anyone who’s keen to explore the city.

The modernistic design shows immaculate attention to detail, impressively combining elements of ‘50s decor and vintage furniture with contemporary Khmer culture. It oozes sophistication and style. While boutique accommodation isn't for everyone, we love the cosy yet not over-fussy feel, and how each room boasts its own private terrace for total relaxation.

Viroth’s convenient location is complemented by a range of impressive facilities for such a small property; the 20-metre-long saltwater pool and surrounding sundeck are incredibly inviting after a day of temple touring, as is the tranquil spa if you’re looking for an evening of pampering.

Location

In the Wat Bo area, down a leafy street in the centre of Old Town Siem Reap, Viroth’s is just a stone's throw from the town's many eateries, bars and bustling Old Market, and a mere 15 minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Angkor Wat.

Why we love it

Discover what to expect from staying at Viroth's Hotel

Food glorious food

You’d be forgiven for hiding away in the little haven that Viroth’s Hotel has created, sampling their variety of delicious Khmer and international dishes in the calm courtyard. However, we would encourage you to brave the outdoor humidity (setting your sights away from Pub Street’s overwhelming bars and restaurants) and pull up a plastic chair at a street vendor’s stall - the only way to truly eat like a local. If you’ve fallen for Viroth’s retro charms, let them inspire you to visit some similarly charming cafes and bakeries nearby, where you can savour the flavours of the day.

Location, location, location…

Of course the location is a real highlight here, but for us it’s also the sense of tranquillity and family welcome when you step through the doors. Viroth’s offers a taste of home in green, luxurious surroundings, where you can kick back after a long, lively day of exploration. The spa is the ideal place to unwind and revitalise your mind and body with treatments packed full of local ingredients such as mango, avocado and aloe vera.
