With one property within the city walls and one high in the surrounding hills, Jaipur’s two Samode hotels display distinct aspects of the city’s character. Both reflect Jaipur’s rich history as a seat of Rajasthan royalty, with elegance and grandeur in every detail. The Samode Haveli is a city-centre oasis. Behind its decorative facade sit spacious suites, manicured gardens and quiet courtyards where you can escape the bustle of the streets beyond. Cool turquoise and crisp white create calm, and saffron yellow brings in the warmth of the surrounding sun-baked hillsides.
Just an hour or so away, in those rocky hills overlooking the city, the Samode Palace casts a stately silhouette against the skyline. This distinctive property offers an immersive sense of Jaipur’s history, alongside sumptuous contemporary comfort - exactly what you’d expect, in fact, when staying in a palace. Exploring the 475-year-old terraces and courtyards, constructed in a combination of Indian and Mughal styles, is an experience in itself; elaborate mosaics, colourful murals and intricate carvings wait around every corner. Taking tea on sumptuous sofas in the sheltered terrace, it’s easy to imagine the lives of the region’s royalty in centuries past.
The Samode Palace nestles in the hills to the north of Jaipur, near the cobbled streets of Samode village, while the Samode Haveli sits within the busy, historic city itself.

Discover what to expect from staying at Samode Palace & Samode Haveli
We love staying somewhere indulgent now and again, but don’t enjoy the all-too-common feeling of being disconnected from our surroundings by homogenous ‘luxury’ interiors that could be anywhere in the world. Both of these properties achieve the difficult balance of making you feel enveloped in opulence whilst still completely connected to the heritage and history of the region. They celebrate the traditional architecture and design of Rajasthan’s culture, bringing out the character and story of each space, and allowing you to soak up a true sense of place.
Despite the grandeur of the décor, both of these properties have a personal touch. The hotel staff go the extra mile to make sure each guest feels welcomed and that every i is dotted and t crossed in regard to requests and queries - nothing is too much trouble. More than the opulent surroundings, it's this attention to detail which really brings the feeling of luxury.
Spend your days exploring the sights of Jaipur, Rajasthan’s instantly-recognisable ‘Pink City’, wandering past the City Palace and through bustling markets, then return to the Samode Haveli or the Samode Palace for some dedicated r&r. Enjoy a cooling dip in the pool, take afternoon tea on a shady verandah, find a few moments of calm in a quiet courtyard or sheltered spot in the garden, and treat yourself to a massage at the spa. Dine on traditional Rajasthani specialties and international classics, and watch the sunset with a cocktail or two on a roof terrace.
