Oblu by Atmosphere at Helengeli might not have all the bells and whistles of some of its more luxurious (and less budget-friendly) neighbours, but this fresh, contemporary resort offers a warm welcome to a stunning part of the world. It isn’t the fanciest hotel in the Maldives by a longshot, but is arguably the best in its league.
Four varieties of comfortable villas are dotted around what is, for the Maldives, a medium sized island. Some are just steps from the golden shoreline whilst others are set further inland. Private decks venture out over the turquoise lagoon. The island remains strikingly green, with rustic signs directing you along sandy trails to the restaurant, bar, or wherever you’re looking to wander. Take advantage of the Oblu’s all-inclusive plan for the ultimate in easy island living
Reef-encircled Helengeli Island forms part of the North Male Atoll, which is just an exhilarating 50-minute speedboat ride from Male International Airport.
Beach & (partially) over-water villas
Range of spa treatments
Easily accessible house reef
Snorkelling, diving & water sports
This was our first trip to the Maldives, and Oblu at Helengeli was even better than we expected. The staff really made us feel taken care of.
Discover what to expect from staying at Oblu by Atmosphere at Helengeli
When booking a trip to the Maldives, it's very easy to feel like you’ve found the perfect deal straight away. That is until you start adding on the costs of exploring, drinking, or even getting a bite to eat… At Oblu by Helengeli, this isn’t an issue. The all-inclusive basis means there’s no surprise costs. As with every all-inclusive plan there are some exceptions, but it's difficult to feel short changed with plentiful buffet-style food, a satisfying range of drinks, snorkelling equipment, non-motorised water sports, selected excursions, and even a spa treatment already included in your holiday.
Don a mask and fins! Helengeli Island has its own exotic house reef, meaning you can commute in minutes from your homely villa to the underwater world. Other than a couple of your fellow guests, your underwater companions are likely to range from the resident silver-tipped sharks, to lobsters and giant sea turtles. Natural channels on either side of the island make the area ideal for divers, whether you are a complete beginner or looking to extend your underwater skill set.
