Stepping into the welcoming grounds of the Summit River Lodge, after a day exploring the beauty and tranquillity of the Kurintar hillsides, is the perfect way to rest and recharge. Natural materials such as rough cut stone, mellow wood and bamboo create calm spaces enhanced by warm light for a cosy, homely feel. Snug sofas on the sheltered terrace offer tempting spots to sit and get lost in the views, or in a good book.
But however cosy the lodge, the call of the hills can’t be resisted for long… There are numerous paths and trails to follow on foot or bike through the surrounding forest and undulating slopes, ideal for gentle wanders, random rambles and even some more seriously-focused trekking. For those keen to take the adventure up a notch, there’s the opportunity of rapid rafting on the nearby Trisuli River, while those with spirituality in mind can take a cable car up to the Manakamana Temple, believed by some to grant wishes.
Sheltered in the Kurintar hills, around 3 hours drive from Kathmandu, the lodge is near to the village of Theywatar and the Trishuli River.
