The rainy season is now a distant memory, with excellent conditions expected throughout Myanmar in December. Rainfall is unlikely, and despite being one of the coolest months of the year, you can still expect average highs of up to 31°C across much of the country.
Across Myanmar you can expect little if any rain during December and in lowland and central areas hot days and warm nights are very much the norm. In the highlands and foothills of the east, the temperatures are at their lowest with average highs of 24°C, and appropriate clothing is required, especially at night.
Myanmar's south and west coast beaches are back to their best, with resorts fully open and plenty of sunshine expected. On the rivers, water levels remain very high making for peak cruising conditions even up in the Upper Ayeyarwaddy and on the Chindwin River.
Favourable weather conditions makes Myanmar a great location for a Christmas holiday. Early booking is essential.
